An urban comedy of identity lost and found via sexual indiscretions, Frances is initially a bored 9-to-5-er. She comes to the much-prolonged decision to leave her mentally unstable husband and begins to live out of her office, unbeknownst to her co-workers. Each night she goes to a different nightclub or a bar in Boston and forces herself out of her protected prim existence by meeting and picking up different men. Through exploring different persona's and what she is capable of, she hopes to find herself.

Guided by the wisdom of Pizza Joe, a troubled young man tries to win the heart of a waitress trapped in an abusive relationship with her lecherous pizza shop manager. Add a sex-starved delivery boy, his brain-dead sidekick, a homicidal hotdog man and a missing pepperoni and you've got a recipe for disaster! A bawdy, tongue-in-cheek tale served with half-baked characters and an extra helping of crackpot pizza philosophy.

Une jeune infirmiere de nuit, Erin, vient d'etre quittee par son petit ami. Sa mere, bien intentionnee mais envahissante, passe une petite annonce. Alan qui vit de l'autre cote de la ville est un ancien plombier qui fait du volontariat a l'aquarium municipal. Il essaie, lui aussi, de donner une nouvelle orientation a sa vie.

Claire Cooper, illustratrice de livres pour enfants, est depuis quelque temps tourmentée par des visions effrayantes ou apparaissent une ville engloutie, une petite fille égarée et la silhouette d'un homme. Inquiète, Claire demande a son mari de prévenir la police quand elle apprend qu'une petite fille vient d’être enlevée. L'inspecteur Kay le renvoie sans ménagement. Claire consulte alors des médecins qui se montrent impuissants à la guérir. C'est alors que sa fille Rebecca disparait mystérieusement. Claire comprend alors qu'elle est le jouet d'un tueur en série.
