Cette même année le groupe proposait ces versions très spéciales sur scène, présentant même « Gaza » et « Zeparated Out » sous un nouveau jour. C’est ainsi que With Friends At St David's est créé donnant lieu à une remarquable expérience visuelle et sonore lors de laquelle Marillion va au-delà de ses limites musicales et de son univers, le tout retranscrit au sein d’un album live. Enregistré au Racket Club et Real World Studios de Peter Gabriel. Ce concert comporte 9 des plus grands classiques de Marillion, réinventés et accompagnés par le « In Praise of Folly String Quartet" avec notamment Sam Morris au Cor et Emma Halnan à la Flûte, donnant ainsi une nouvelle dimension à ces standards. Enregistré en direct au St David's Hall, Cardiff le 16 novembre 2019.

Débutant dans un style qualifié de "neo-progressif dont ils furent les pionniers, l'arrivée en 1988 de Steve Hogarth au chant marquera un tournant artistique dans la carrière du groupe, se muant peu à peu en pop sophistiquée tout en conservant la particularité et le lyrisme de leurs arrangements . Le groupe a sorti une douzaine d'albums studios, de nombreux live et side projects, renouvelant en 2010 une partie de leur répertoire avec 'LESS IS MORE' leur premier album unplugged. Un challenge de déconstruction et de réarrangements qui prit toute sa dimension sur scène lors de la tournée qui suivit. Live At Cadogan Hall est l'enregistrement de la dernière date à Londres, constitué en deux parties : Less is More, joué live dans son intégralité, et d'un second set reprenant les classiques du groupe reinventés dans le même esprit, le tout filmé en haute définition par 9 cameras.
