Grandpa Slava is the oldest of the Midland vampire family. They live quietly. They live by the law. They live the unremarkable life of an ordinary Russian family and they never kill humans – ever. Although, of course, everyone knows they drink blood. And when some lifeless corpses are found in a birch grove near Smolensk... their peaceful life falls under threat.

Moscow, 1974. During the premiere show, Mila Nikanorova, the leading model, was found hanged in the back room of the Model House on Kuznetsky Most. Kirill Bessonov, a principled and stubborn investigator of the MURA, begins the investigation.

The garage cooperative "Skier" is on the verge of demolition. Its inhabitants are doing their best to negotiate with the incompetent chairman of the cooperative and prevent destruction.

Il s'agit d'une série policière dans laquelle le brave loup solitaire Sanya mène l'enquête sur des crimes non résolus. La composante policière est à la base de chaque épisode, mais au sein de l'intrigue, il y a un choc des personnages, leurs histoires familiales et les changements qui se produisent avec chacun d'eux. On y suit aussi le personnage du stagiaire Karandyshev qui évolue et passe d'un jeune naïf à un vrai professionnel.
