Strašo Miloševski

The story of two brothers of different orientation and fate. The drama takes place in an atmosphere of tension and fear, during the conflict of Yugoslav Communist Party with the Stalinism, during the Cominform. Older brother Dragoslav, a returnee from Russia, was unjustly accused of being a Russian spy and subsequently arrested. Younger brother Kosta is not interested in politics, but he's attracted by a brother's wife Vera and underworld mafia. In the end, it turns out that a young woman belongs to the Soviet spy agency.

A Stip, petite ville de Macédoine, tous les ans au mois de Janvier, le prêtre de la paroisse lance une croix de bois dans la rivière et des centaines d’hommes plongent pour l’attraper. Bonheur et prospérité sont assurés à celui qui y parvient. Ce jour-là, Petrunya se jette à l’eau sur un coup de tête et s’empare de la croix avant tout le monde. Ses concurrents sont furieux qu’une femme ait osé participer à ce rituel. La guerre est déclarée mais Petrunya tient bon : elle a gagné sa croix, elle ne la rendra pas.
