Anya and her beloved Yurko come to visit the girl’s parents in the Ukrainian Carpathian village in the summer. At the Ivan Kupala celebration, a local heartthrob named Ivanka, nicknamed Morena, puts her eye on and charms him. Strange and mystical events begin to happen to lovers after meeting with Morena. A conflict breaks out between girls – their relationship turns into a desperate war that leaves blood in their wake. This feud will forever change them.

En 1941, Hitler décide de s'emparer du port stratégique de Sébastopol. L'aviation et l'artillerie allemandes vont pilonner sans relâche le dernier bastion de l'armée rouge. Sous ce déluge de feu, une jeune femme russe va se révéler être une tireuse d'élite hors pair et semer la panique dans le camp allemand. Les combats vont être meurtriers. Blessée par un éclat d'obus, elle va continuer à se battre sur le terrain diplomatique pour changer le cours de l'histoire.

Artem, 8 ans, et sa famille viennent de quitter la grande ville où ils habitaient pour emménager dans un village de montagne. A l'approche de Noël, ni le père d'Artem, qui vient de perdre son travail, ni sa mère et sa grande-soeur ne se sentent d'humeur festive. Un cambrioleur sévit dans les parages. Il vole le manteau du père Noël et se fait passer pour lui. Artem se rend compte de la supercherie et veut sauver le vénérable homme, qui est soupçonné d'être le cambrioleur par la police.

1939 . A young Ukrainian-American man Yaro comes to the Carpathian Mountains, because his father left him a fortune under the condition that he would marry a Ukrainian girl. There Yaro meets a Hutsul girl Ksenya and has to rethink his plan.

The series is built in the form of saga and depicts the turbulent periods of the beginning of the 20th century through the eyes of ordinary people: the First World War, the revolution, the emergence of Soviet regime. Each of the characters faced the changes in their own way through their concept of truth. However, all of them shared fundamental desire to live, love and find their own place in the new era.
