Mendadak Dangdut (Suddenly Dangdut) is a 2006 Indonesian dramatic-comedy film directed by Rudy Soedjarwo and written by Monty Tiwa. Starring Titi Kamal, Kinaryosih, and Dwi Sasono, it details the rise and fall of a dangdut singer and her sister-cum-manager.

Problem arises because he has to undergo long distance relationship with his girlfriend that causes the swelling of expenses and study difficulties. Then he meets a friend from primary school who believes that he can be a comedy writer. This opens up his mind in his search for identity.

She decided to run away from home and go to Jogja to see her boyfriend, Mika (Marcel Anthony). Stranded all alone in Yogya she finds that Mika goes to climb a mountain, unreachable by phone. Shanaz accidentaly is lost in the low class prostitution in Jogja. Luckily there’s Ningsih (Dinna Olivia), a prostitute who has simpathy for her.

Dibyo (Ringgo Agus Rahman), is a big liar who felt as if he was a big actor even though he only got one insignificant part. Dibyo seduces Mira (Mulan Kwok) who bought his lie, and took her to bed. Mira seems to really fall in love with him even though she knows who Dibyo really is and pregnant with his child. The problem is, Mira is also lying. She actually has a husband named Lamhot Simamora (Eddie Karsito), although they are separated. Mira wants Dibyo to end her relationship with her husband. It turns out that Lamhot is a gangster with many followers. Because Dibyo accidentally saves Lamhot from a fight with another gangster group, Lamhot then claims Dibyo as his best friend, moreover after he lies that his name is John Sidabutar. Because of that, Lam-hot takes him to his home and guarantee his life.

Amanda (Elvira Natali) is forced to do the punishment given by Dava (Aliando Syarif), a coarse and stubborn boy who has difficulty making friends with anyone. The punishment brings Amanda to the meeting with Leo (Guntur Nugraha), half brother of Dava. Leo who already likes Amanda for a long time, trying to come to terms with a dark secret she buried. As time goes on, Dava starts to become a different person and gentle. Separations between Amanda and Dava reveals a hidden feeling. Their task is to make that feeling meaningful, before it's too late.

Adit and his mother buy a house, and finds out that it is haunted by a female apparition, who threatens his mother. Their neighbor, an old lady, with a sixth sense, tells Adit that he must set right all of his past mistakes. Then Adit remembers Annisa. He finally breaks up with Lulu in order to save his mother. But Lulu does not accept it and tries to commit suicide.

Indra and Bayu, dream of becoming motorcycle racers. So they compete in an illegal street race and fight a rival motorcycle gang that almost claims their lives. But when their dream is about to be achieved, Indra and Bayu are faced with two difficult choices.
