Le lycéen Ito est un élève sérieux et travailleur âgé de 17 ans. Mais il s'ennuie également et se sent insatisfait. Sur le chemin du retour de l'école, Ito joue souvent à une sorte de jeu, se mettant au défi de marcher le long d'une longue ligne blanche sur la route. Un jour, alors qu'il joue à son jeu solitaire, il rencontre un autre lycée, le naïf mais sympathique Nishi et Ito tombe immédiatement sous son charme. Le duo se rencontre à nouveau, mais ils ne semblent pouvoir passer du temps ensemble que sur le chemin du retour de l'école à la maison. Dans un élan de passion, Ito embrasse soudainement Nishi, et il est ravi de découvrir que Nishi éprouve aussi des sentiments pour lui. L'histoire suit les deux garçons alors qu'ils passent de la fin de l'enfance à l'âge adulte, et sont obligés de relever de nouveaux défis qui mettent leur amour à l'épreuve à chaque instant.

The owner of an accessory shop, Midori behaved violently towards an employee and has been released on parole after serving a two-year sentence for extortion and assault. Under the guidance of probation officer Takamatsu Naoharu, Kayo struggles to help her find her place in society.
