A government servant learns that his business partner was killed. His daughter witnessed the murder but lost her long-term memory. The man tries to help the girl remember what happened before her life and his business were destroyed.

En août 1981, Larisa et Vladimir Savitsky, jeunes mariés, embarquent pour un vol entre Komsomolsk-sur-l'Amour et Blagovechtchensk, en Union soviétique. Famous musician Nikita Prozorov is kidnapped in a house in the center of Moscow. This is a story about the children’s instructor in hand-to-hand fighting who has fractured his pelvis and is now being cared for by his girl-friend. The strong and daring man, he is scared by this dependence on another person, while the protagonist is torn between the desire to help the man recover and the wish to tie him to herself forever. The protagonists live in a shared flat in St. Petersburg. The woman in the room next door listens to the song «Just Wait for Me» and keeps waiting for somebody all her life.

A talented doctor, a rich slacker, a good mother and other people whose life looks perfect only from the outside are in an eternal search for an answer to the question of what happiness is.
