André Dartevelle, journaliste et réalisateur belge, a construit pendant plus de 40 ans une œuvre « en résistance », donnant inlassablement la parole aux opprimés. Témoin des conflits du monde, attaché aux questions de société en Belgique et plus généralement au travail de mémoire, il aura mis en lumière les grands combats sociaux et politiques de son temps. A travers son témoignage et celui de ses collaborateurs, il revient avec force sur les moments clés de notre histoire contemporaine.

Paul Delvaux would have been one hundred years old on 23 September 1997 had he not departed three summers ago to be reunited with the strange models and landscapes of his creation. "I would love to paint a fabulous picture that I would live in, that I could live", he used to say.
