Ljubomir Jurković

Ilija is a member of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) somewhere in Central Bosnia in late 1993. One morning, after a routine mine laying campaign, he learns his younger brother Goran was killed far beyond enemy lines, together with eight other soldiers. Through a friend from the secret service, he finds out the mission was an unofficial one and that Goran and the others were acting as mercenaries. Ilija begins to expose a network of illegal activity involving not only the military, but high-ranking officials. As the investigation becomes more dangerous, his original intention to find out the truth slowly turns into a pathological mission of vengeance.

Le jeune prête Fabijan arrive dans une petite île croate pour reprendre les rênes de la paroisse. Préoccupé par le taux de natalité médiocre, il met en oeuvre un plan pour inverser la tendance : en complicité avec le vendeur du kiosque local, Petar, très religieux, il se met à percer tous les préservatifs vendus par ce dernier. A ce plan s'associe le pharmacien Marin, qui remplace les pilules contraceptives par des vitamines. Très vite, mariages et naissances se multiplient, un phénomène qui amène vite sur l'île une foule de visiteurs étrangers qui n'arrivent pas à concevoir...

The extended version of the eponymous film served as a TV mini-series. The plot is centered in the city of Karlovac in 1992, during the Croatian War of Independence. The front lines, where Croatian and Serbian forces fight each other, lie near the city. Meanwhile, in the city of Karlovac, a Serbian civilian Vasić is murdered. The story follows the local police officer Barbir (Dražen Kühn), who tries to solve the murder in spite of ethnic hatred and war revolving nearby.
