À l’adolescence, Oscar déniche un premier emploi dans une quincaillerie où il fait la connaissance de Wilder, un garçon de son âge étrangement libre et rebelle. Les deux adolescents se lient d’amitié, mais les sentiments d’Oscar pour Wilder deviennent toujours plus confus.
