This is a story of reminiscence, remembering my long-deceased Grandpa. To remember is to transcend, therefore it’s a story of time and space, overlapped and intertwined. It’s also a quest of love and work, a spiritual and emotional journey; and through which values are re-examined and life reaffirmed.

A trio of happy-go-lucky workers wipe sweat and work hard in every corner. As Chang is feeling anxious about his large number of traffic tickets, Qi suggests to get help from a lawyer. These two workers meet with Quan, who is homeless because of rental problem. Qi who loves to dream of being wealthy decides to use his astonishing intuition and luck to take part in the reality TV show "Who is the lucky one" in the hope of winning the big prizes so he can help his friends and son to make their dreams come true. No matter how hard life is for these trio workers, they will always laugh with you.

L'histoire d'une famille taïwanaise, depuis les années 1950 jusqu'à nos jours à travers le parcours de Pin-Jui. N'ayant pas d'avenir, il quitte son pays natal - et la femme qu'il aime - pour les Etats-Unis. Après un mariage arrangé, une relation compliquée avec sa fille et des années d'un travail monotone, arrivé à l'âge de la retraite, Pin-Jui risque de passer la fin de sa vie dans une solitude extrême.
