La Hongrie, dans les années 1960. À la suite d'une série de meurtres atroces, la petite bourgade de Martfú est sous le choc. Tandis qu’un innocent, accusé à tort, est condamné pour des crimes qu’il n’a pu objectivement commettre, un tueur psychotique rôde dans les environs et continue d’assassiner d’autres jeunes femmes. Obsédé par cette affaire, l’inspecteur chargé de l’enquête subit la pression du procureur qui souhaite voir l’auteur de ces meurtres rapidement pendu.

Two relationship dramas run parallel - the issue of having children that ties them together and the issue of having children that tears them apart. Perhaps they have more in common: a fear of commitment, of responsibility, of loneliness, of each other and of themselves. What they have in common is what tears them apart. Their inability to live together, their inability to be honest.

A coming of age story, in flashback, of a group of high school students graduating in 2011. Each will take a different path from here on.

Pour échapper à l’Europe de l’après-guerre, l’architecte visionnaire László Tóth émigre aux États-Unis. Il veut y reconstruire sa vie, son travail et son mariage avec sa femme Erzsébet, dont il a été séparé pendant la guerre par suite des modifications de frontières et de régimes. Seul dans ce nouveau pays, László s’installe en Pennsylvanie, où le riche industriel Harrison Lee Van Buren remarque son talent pour la construction. Mais le pouvoir et l’héritage se paient au prix fort...
