Jeannie is a dark, self-destructive, closeted 17-year-old West L.A. girl. She has to navigate school, friends, her first romance with a girl, and dealing with her bickering divorced parents. Jeannie purchases a Native American pendant to help her gain positive energy. But something goes wrong when the pendent transfers the spirits of her slain parents into her body.

On June 11th, 1997, Philippe Kahn created the first camera phone solution to share pictures instantly on public networks. The impetus for this invention was the birth of Kahn's daughter, when he jerry-rigged a mobile phone with a digital camera and sent photos in real time. In 2016 Time Magazine included Kahn's first camera phone photo in their list of the 100 most influential photos of all time.

Shannon et sa fille, Brooke, viennent d’emménager dans une nouvelle ville et la jeune fille regrette son ancienne vie. Un jour, au lycée, elle rencontre Corey et croit voir en lui un nouvel ami. Hélas, Hunter, le frère de Corey, anéantit très vite tous ses espoirs. Peu fréquentable et couvert de dettes, Hunter enlève Brooke afin de demander une rançon à sa mère. Corey et son meilleur ami, Eric, se retrouvent pris malgré eux dans l’engrenage. Refusant d’appeler la police par peur des représailles, Shannon part seule à la poursuite des ravisseurs.
