Thabang Mashiane

Nick just got back home after spending three months at a therapy centre. He is determined to leave all the pain inflicted by his previous love behind. But after one night back, Nick goes out with his two friends and catch up in a local bar. Little he knows that across the room he will see love again, shyly smiling at him, trying to reach him with a sweet gaze.

Facing a dire situation, a woman flees her badly governed homelands; heading north with the desperate dream of finding a better life. Although she later discovers that to be fully accepted into the community, means losing a part of herself.

Ayanda is an 18 year-old high-school student from a middle class home in Joburg. Her father is absent and her mother might as well be because she is always busy climbing the corporate ladder. From the outside looking in, her life looks pretty normal, but deep inside, Ayanda is slowly self-destructing. Chaotic is the perfect word to describe her last year of Highschool. She is bullied, argues with her mother constantly and has absolutely no interest in school. The story plays out over 24hrs, on a scorching hot Friday.
