Le film suit le parcours d'un garagiste grossier qui, après avoir emporté un concours d'imitation d'Elvis Presley, s'envole avec sa femme Linda à Santa Banana. Après une semaine remplie d'incidents imprévus et de péripéties sous les tropiques, il revient au Québec en étant bien décidé à redresser les valeurs morales de notre société.

Elvis Gratton wins the contest organized in memory of Elvis Presley, which earns him a trip to the Republic of Santa Banana. We find him, clumsy and cartoonish, on the beaches of this shabby republic, ruled by a veritable petty dictator.
