More than anything, brilliant Teru longs to attend school with other girls. But in early 20th-century Japan, Teru is excluded because she is Ainu. Instead of writing, the Ainu—indigenous people from Japan’s Hokkaido island—pass down their traditions through yukar (oral poems). When Teru meets a Tokyo professor who has devoted his life to decoding yukar, Teru discovers a chance not only to prove her brilliance but to rewrite the fate of the Ainu.

The film delicately portrays a young girl who struggles with the sudden discovery of juvenile breast cancer and her complicated relationship with her mother.

High school boy Machida is a loner who is not particularly good at his studies or extracurricular activities. He does seem to have his heart in the right place however. When he is injured at school instead of the school nurse at the infirmary a school-mate tends to him. He develops a crush for her and soon enough the feelings are returned.

One day, people were informed that a meteorite is approaching the Earth, and it caused the world to fall into chaos. As research progressed the distance between the meteorite and the earth is slowly getting closer… The story follows the perspective of 5 people as they spend their last 31 days on Earth. Those people are, a high school boy looking for an impulse, a high school girl who can’t express her feelings well, a teacher who tries to fulfill his promise to someone, a coffee shop owner who is pregnant, and a hikikomori boy who craves for the destruction of the earth. On the last day, before "goodbye", what is the last thing that they want to do?

"Babel Kusaku" is a 5 story, 88 year old multi tenant building. Kusaku Mitsuhiro is the building's new manager. While dreaming of becoming a screenwriter, he gets lost in Babel where a false world where all dreams came true can be accessed. Like him, the tenants of Babel are all people who had to give up their dreams in the real world. Those who got lost, wish to stay at Babel forever. However, once you say the word "Babel", you can never return to the real world.

Kazama Naoki est un détective de choc au sein du cabinet d'enquête privé Nemesis à Yokohama. Il a un esprit brillant comme Sherlock Holmes et résout toutes les affaires difficiles. Mais le véritable détective est en fait sa talentueuse assistante, Mikami Anna. Tous deux, qui forment un drôle de duo, sont à la recherche du père d'Anna, Hajime. Ce dernier est un scientifique et a soudainement disparu. Avec Kurita Kazuaki, le propriétaire de Nemesis qui est un bon ami de Hajime, Anna et Kazama cherchent des indices sur sa disparition. Au fur et à mesure qu'ils s'attaquent à une affaire déroutante et truffée de pièges, ils semblent trouver à chaque fois un indice lié à son père qui donne lieu à une nouvelle énigme.

Le lycée de Ryūzan, le plus mauvais de Tōkyō, est couvert de dettes, et le fait qu'il soit plein de cancres n'arrange pas les choses. C'est le début de l'année scolaire et la directrice, le cœur lourd, annonce à son équipe enseignante que le lycée devra fermer ses portes et qu'ils se retrouveront tous au chômage. Kenji Sakuragi est l'avocat désigné pour officialiser la fermeture de l'établissement. Lorsqu'il arrive sur les lieux, il surprend une bagarre avec un des étudiants. De par son passé de délinquant (motard bōsōzoku) et les difficultés qu'il a rencontrées pour arriver à la position qu'il occupe actuellement, il lui vient une idée qui semble incroyable aux enseignants de l'établissement : envoyer cinq étudiants à l'université la plus prestigieuse du Japon, l'université de Tokyo, surnommée Todai. Il va pour cela constituer une classe préparatoire spéciale comprenant des élèves qui étaient destinés à un avenir sombre et, grâce à des méthodes d'enseignement particulières, essayer de relancer sa carrière et par la même occasion sauver le lycée.
