Kyōka buys a personal care humanoid to make her life easier. Kai, her humanoid, learns everything about her, adapting himself to serve her better. Their relationship progresses, and when the impossible happens, Kyōka's 12 months of Kai exposes more than ever imagined.

Set in 2020 in the Shibuya neighborhood of Tokyo, the story revolves around Hachi, a boy who fled to the Japanese capital from his hometown of Fukushima and now lives away from society as an illegal drug dealer.

High school students Takeshi and F1 were working part-time to earn money by stealing mopeds and selling them to delinquents. One day, Ayaka, who has transferred to the school Takeshi attends, joins them, and the three of them decide to steal a moped. When he tries to steal a moped parked in his apartment, he is found by a woman wearing a mask who seems to be the owner. Takeshi and his friends escape on a motorcycle, but they are quickly overtaken by a running woman with unbelievable physical abilities. This masked woman was a slit-mouthed woman who ran 100m in 6 seconds with her mouth split all the way to her cheeks.

In Tokyo, lonely patrons pay to sleep ("soine") with someone. Massage, cuddle, sleep… for comfort and nothing more than the warm embrace of another. Tasuku, a young man fresh out of a relationship, starts a new job as one of the cuddlers. He's nervous and reticent, but soon finds himself with a procession of clients, male as well as female. In his unique position as their companion, he finds himself privy to the true selves they keep closeted. Tender performance and contemplative writing elevate an exploration of the human need for comfort and tenderness, while learning to be true to oneself.

After the death of his wife, Kenzaburo receives an unexpected letter from beyond the grave. His late wife asks him to travel to Lake Windermere in England with their son to scatter her ashes. Plagued by sweet and painful memories of his wife, Kenzaburo travels to England from Tokyo to fulfill her final wish, but the father and son’s fraught relationship threatens to upend their journey.

Après avoir provoqué un incident majeur, le policier Daigo Agawa emmène sa femme et sa fille vivre dans un village de montagne isolé, appelé Kuge. L’endroit semble parfait pour se remettre de l’épreuve, malgré la disparition mystérieuse d’un précédent officier affecté là-bas. Un jour, le corps d’une vieille femme est retrouvé dans la montagne. La famille Goto affirme qu’elle a été attaquée par un ours, mais Daigo remarque une trace de morsure humaine. Il devient vite évident que tout n’est pas comme il paraît dans le village.
