Tirana 1997. The chaos left by the fall of communism has opened the doors to a bloody civil war. Matia, just a teenager, is harassed by his playmates. Flora, a journalist in a Western country, comes to her homeland to trace the early life/identity of Mother Teresa or Anjeza Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, to produce a feature. But soon she will face the surprise of her own identity. Two different lives, in search of their identities, so badly effected by the past, during the communist system.

Le jeune Kristo vit dans un village au bord du magnifique lac Prespa, une étendue d'eau située aux frontières de trois pays des Balkans : l'Albanie, la Macédoine et la Grèce. Pour subvenir aux besoins de sa famille, Kristo est devenu un petit trafiquant de marijuana, utilisant son bateau et sa connaissance des eaux du lac pour transporter des paquets de drogue du côté albanais au côté macédonien.

Kosovo, 2019. Corruption and unemployment have made it impossible for Shpëtim to find a job. Things get more complicated when he has to take care of his daughter as well, and does not have a proper place to live. After many attempts to solve his situation, and experiencing repeated deceptions, Shpëtim decides to migrate to Germany illegally in his search for a better life.
