Gauri, a student, is dating a worker at her father’s hawker stall. One day, she discovers she is pregnant—news that worsens the fractured relationship with her father and stepmother. During a visit to the gynaecologist’s clinic, Gauri strikes a chord with her doctor, Radhika, who is struggling to come to terms with a huge loss in her life. Their unlikely bond proves to be a welcome change in both their lives.

The story revolves around a U-shaped alleyway in Lucknow, India, where various individuals reside. Mirza is a gentle and poetic man who runs a Tea and Kebab Stall. Hariya, a mischievous young man who develops one-sided feelings for Shabbo, a strong and outspoken young woman.

Goli (Gulshan) is a poor boy in a Jammu village who dreams of becoming a Football player. Circumstances however lead him to take up his father's profession of painting statues. Now in his late 20s he bumps into Rekha, another passionate football player who has been married off at a young age. She however continues to play street Football with village children, coaching and encouraging them to "play the sport".

A couple lived 7 years of their married lives planning for their future but one incident brings their world upside down. That's the moment they decide to live their lives and embark on a long wishlist trip to live each moment of live and fulfill their bucket list before one of them die.

A period drama, the film is based on Ismat Chugtai's most celebrated story "Lihaaf" (published 1942). The film inter weaves the plot of same sex relationship between Begum and her masseuse and the trial that Ismat underwent after being slapped with a case of obscenity on publishing the story. The film raises themes of homosexuality and freedom of speech that our society is grappling with even today.

When a confident and feisty girl fixes an awkward but endearing guy's car on the expressway, a warm-hearted love story starts to take life. As the guy finds himself smitten by this enigmatic girl, he learns to come out of his shell. Meanwhile, the girl learns to believe in the existence of true, unconditional love as they navigate the diversions, detours and pit-stops of their romantic journey.
