Elelwani is a young university-educated woman who has been brought up in an environment steeped in tradition. Her parents have promised her hand in marriage to the Vendaking and, as a dutiful daughter, she wants to obey their wishes. But in order to fulfil her promise, Elelwani must abandon her dreams of travel, further education and – most importantly – her commitment to her one true love.

Little One is a story about ordinary people living day to day in a poverty-stricken environment where despite the crime and tough living conditions there is still hope and love to be found.

Dans les années 50, la jeune travailleuse sociale de Johannesburg captiva l’attention de l’activiste et prince de Tembu, Nelson Mandela, par sa beauté, son style et sa personnalité. Ensemble, ils personnifiaient l’espérance, ont fait grandir la conscience politique du peuple et ont ainsi inspiré toute une nation. Par sa détermination sans borne et son incroyable courage, elle survécut à l’emprisonnement de son époux, au harcèlement incessant des agents de la paix, à son expatriation dans la petite ville de L'État-Libre, à la trahison de ses amis et alliés , et à une année entière confinée en isolement, le tout en gardant la flamme pour une lutte acharnée et en gardant le nom de Nelson Mandela vivant.
