Trois générations travaillent ensemble dans le magasin : Rick Harrison est propriétaire de la boutique avec son père Richard Benjamin Harrison dit « Le Vieux », et exploite le magasin avec son fils Corey Harrison dit « Big Hoss ». L'émission met aussi à l'honneur Austin Russell dit « Chumlee (en) », ami d'enfance de Corey et employé du magasin2. Des particuliers apportent des objets plus ou moins anciens qu'ils souhaitent le plus souvent vendre. Ces objets font l'objet d'une expertise (historique, état etc.) et une négociation s'engage pour en fixer le prix. Si la transaction aboutit, le paiement s'effectue en espèces. Entre ces scènes, l'émission montre les chamailleries au sein de l'équipe.
