Lakay nou suit un couple coincé entre deux générations. D’un côté, celle de leurs trois enfants de 10 à 20 ans, nés au Québec et purs fruits de la culture d’ici plus que de celle de leurs aïeux. Et de l’autre, celle de leurs parents, nés en Haïti, attachés à leurs racines et aux attentes plus traditionnelles de leur génération. Ils sont omniprésents dans leurs vies, surtout les parents d’Henri qui habitent juste à côté de chez eux. Or, à l’aube de la quarantaine, Myrlande et Henri osent enfin tracer leur propre voie en saisissant de nouvelles opportunités qui se présentent. Cet épanouissement personnel et professionnel ne sera pas sans impacts sur le clan tissé un peu trop serré, parfois pour le meilleur, parfois pour le pire, mais toujours pour nous faire rire (avec eux).

Quatre amis de longue date occupent des positions bien différentes au sein du personnel de l’Hôpital St-Vincent de Montréal. Ils se côtoient autant à l’intérieur de l’hôpital qu’à l’extérieur, autour de soupers bien arrosés. Le groupe d’amis est encore sous le choc du départ de François, décédé un an plus tôt dans des circonstances nébuleuses. Autour de ce noyau principal gravite une galerie de personnages tentant chacun de soulager le plus de gens possible dans des délais toujours courts.
