Ascoli Piceno is home to "SUPERBI," a store that has been producing the city's most famous fried olives since 1861. Fulvio has been running the family business for years, yet recently he has grown tired of it (and the quality is not what it used to be, although he'd never admit it). But then a new fried olive store opens in town, run by young rival Ismail.

Samir and Karim are two Italian-Egyptian brothers. On February their parents went to Egypt for a few days to visit relatives. But since the pandemic exploded and Italy went into lockdown they have not had the opportunity to return back home.
