Archi, a local politician’s daughter, and Parshya, a fisherman’s son, fall in love resulting in violence between the families due to the stringent casteism in the village.
Generations of a closely-knit, humorous community of sugarcane labourers have been migrating yearly in search of work. Vitthal belongs to the young, educated generation of the community, but political apathy and lazy governance have kept them socially backward.
The story revolves around the postman delivering his last letter set in the period of 1971 during the Indo-Pak war. The postman in the film is impatient carrying the terrible news of the war. He is muddled between the war he is fighting within himself and the war with his duty because of the pessimistic dilemma around him.
Known for leading the herd with his powerful voice, a fourteen-year-old boy is recognized for this particular skill at the republic day parade and is asked to compete for the parade's leadership spot.
