It's summertime and Johnny hits upon the idea of restoring a disused old bar with his old friends Benny and Bobby. Raising the capital however is a problem, but luckily the landlord's geeky daughter Polly has long harbored a crush on Bobby. Bobby wants no part of this and neither does Polly who smells a rat. As the boys work on restoring the bar, preparing for it's grand re-opening, Polly's guard softens as seemingly does Bobby's but at the expense of possible heartbreak in the unlikeliest of places....

Marzipan Flowers tells the story of Hadas, 48, a woman living in a southern Israeli kibbutz. After her husband is killed in a freakish accident, she is scrutinized by fellow kibbutz members threatened by her status as a beautiful widow. Lost and vulnerable, Hadas moves to the big city. She finds unexpected help and support from her roommate Petel, a colorful transgender, with a mysterious past. They form an alliance of friendship and support and which is put to the test earlier than they had imagined.

The story of the two teenagers that murdered a taxi driver without a reason caused a great shock in Israel. it was on all newspapers and on TV. Those two teenagers lived amongst normative and supporting families, and despite that turned to the life of crime. The movie tries to show what happened before that murder and the things which, may have, led to it.
