In his youth, the author Frej has already found a deep connection and passion with an upper-class girl, Stella Rabell, that has lasted between them through the decades. When Stella's older brother Alex falls victim to a stabbing attack, Frej begins to reminisce about the events of decades past. Frej's memories from the bright 1970s to the present day are filled with love, jealousy, betrayal, life and death.

Linnéa, 18, moves from Ostrobothnia to her aunt in Helsinki to start studying journalism. She comes from a family where her father is alcoholic and moves away to focus on her studies. During the summer vacation, she gets to know Ellen, a cool feminist who writes for the feminist magazine Astra, and Viktor, a charming and confident guy from the wealthy Westend area. Linnéa and Viktor fall in love and Linnéa notices that she is wedged between two worlds, Vike's hedonistic upper class gang and Ellen's cultural friends.

A humorous look at the "horny teenager" concept, but from arguably the more rare female perspective, since in this case the "horny teenager" protagonist in question isn't a guy, but a 17 year old girl.
