In the blasting heat of a Friday afternoon in Cairo, a group of people – among them a movie star, a thief, a madman, a cook and a pregnant woman – find themselves trapped in an elevator for 12 hours.

Mohamed Fathy rents a new apartment facing the palace of Taher Pasha, Nadia's father. A misunderstanding occurs between Fathy and Nadia, and he discovers that she is the niece of his boss at the Bank of Egypt. As soon as Nadia complains to him, he decides to transfer him to Beni Suef. Fathy discovers the truth about the misunderstanding, and they fall in love. Nadia tries to request that the transfer order be cancelled.

Muhammad Kamal, a simple young man on the tram, meets a girl he loves and shares his feelings with her, but her father objects to this relationship because of the poverty of this singer.

She finds him tolerant, but her stepmother causes trouble between her and Fouad and attracts him to her. Raqia gets the chance to take revenge and exposes her frivolous stepmother.

Yasmina, Shushu, and Soso are three siblings trying to make a living by working in a nightclub. When Yasmina gets gambling money from a smitten Adel, she is insistent that the money is a debt that needs to be repaid.
