Ascha, une petite fille, est debout confus devant le palais tsar détruit en Russie. Aucune de la famille tsar semble avoir survécu. Un vieil homme a de la compassion pour la petite fille, qui ne se souvient de rien, pas même de son nom. Il décide de prendre Ascha avec lui chez lui. Beaucoup d'années plus tard, quand Ascha a grandi jusqu'à devenir une jolie jeune fille, elle rencontre Boris, un jeune et charmant ciseleur. Au premier regard, il reconnaît le collier d'Arischas dans le cadre des bijoux du tsar. Et quand il a découvert qu'Ascha a été trouvé devant le palais des tsars, il suppose immédiatement qu'Ascha est la fille du tsar, qui était la fille de la mort.

Tuepfelchen, the little Dalmatian dog is despaired. Just a second ago she had been playing with her two brothers and sisters and now they are gone. Together with Kruemel, the young half-breed dog, he starts looking for them. Soon they meet a gang of street dogs. They persuade the dogs to help them. Without success they search the whole city. All of a sudden Butcher, the clumsy Bulldog discovers a trace of the two. The small Dalmatians aren't well. The dog gang decides to act and Kruemel already has a plan.

Winter 1925 in Alaska. Nome, a small place situated almost at the north pole, is cut off from the external world. But the children and their friends, the clumsy polar bear, the clever seal and of course the huskies keep on playing anyhow. But then one child after another gets sick. "Diphtheria ", says the doctor, " we don't have enough medicine." There is only one chance to save the children. Balto and Kemo, the two fastest sled dogs of the village are chosen to get the medicine from the city. But this City is more than 400 miles away from Nome.
