The story of Frank Walker, an African-American WWII veteran working as a chauffeur. It is the summer of 1945. The War is all but won. Inspirée de l'enfance du comédien Chris Rock, la série suit la vie d'un jeune noir dans les années 80, aîné de trois enfants, qui doit abandonner son quartier de Brooklyn pour s'installer dans un quartier "blanc". Ce jeune adolescent cherche sa place entre ses obligations familiales et la difficile intégration au collège.
