Sur le bord d’une route, Eva (Marina Anna Eich) ramasse une jeune motarde en panne et la dépose à une station-service. De retour dans le luxueux hôtel tenu par son père, Eva s'aperçoit que sa passagère a oublié un sac dans sa voiture et fouille ce qui va se révéler être une boîte de Pandore : elle y découvre en effet un curieux attirail fait de cuir et de chaînes, ainsi qu’une carte de visite. Eva est sur le point de pénétrer dans l’univers de Magdalena (Mira Gittner, aussi co-scénariste du film), alias Lady Maria, maîtresse SM. Une Eve, une Marie/Madeleine… Il n’y a guère que Lilith qui manque à l’appel ! Et si les personnages portent des prénoms bibliques, c’est qu’ils ont leur chemin de croix à effectuer –même si ce qui est célébré ici est bien la « passion de la vie » et non l’agonisante Passion du Christ… Encore que ?

Lukas Maler is a butcher. Albeit more out of necessity than out of passion: As the “Karajan with the scalpel”, his vocation was always forensic medicine. When he accidently destroyed all evidence against the “24-hour-killer”, his career as a coroner was done for. And not far from it was his marriage with his great love Diana, whom he could not offer anything anymore as a broken man. But Lukas gets a second chance when once again a serial killer terrifies the city because the murders resemble those of the “24-hour-killer”. Diana – who has ascended to head of the forensic institute in the meantime – knows that only the best one can solve the case. But he is not available. And so, she gets the second-best one: the most over-qualified butcher in town…
