Afin de revoir sa mère malade, Matthew l’introverti quitte Montréal où il travaille pour retourner à Winnipeg où il est né. Entre Téhéran et Winnipeg, l’espace-temps paraît alors bouleversé et, bizarrement, tout le monde parle désormais persan dans la métropole canadienne. Tandis que deux enfants, mettant notamment Matthew à contribution, se lancent dans une quête à la Kiarostami.

Woman is the first part of a trilogy that, from the perspective of the Iranian diaspora, supports the feminist revolution in Iran. Using documentary techniques to highlight street protests, the film presents civil disobedience as a collective performance and probes the discourse around women, life, and freedom.
