À la veille de Noël, Alex et sa mère Maia, reçoivent par la poste un paquet où sont rassemblés les innombrables cahiers, cassettes, photographies que Maia, entre 13 et 18 ans, a envoyés de Beyrouth à sa meilleure amie partie à Paris, pour échapper à la guerre civile libanaise. Malgré l’interdiction de sa mère, Alex s’y plonge et y découvre, entre fantasme et réalité, l’adolescence tumultueuse de sa mère entre premiers émois amoureux et guerre meurtrière, faisant remonter à la surface des secrets bien gardés.

It’s moving day. Sahar and Omar are new in town. When Sahar runs down to the local supermarket to grab some first-night essentials, the owner of the store leaves her in an uncomfortable situation. She returns to the apartment where her and Omar’s stagnant relationship leaves them speechless. In a way, the film is the story of the clothesline as it narrates, from its own perspective, the beginnings, the joys, the laughter, but also the sadness and hardships, and all the unforeseen challenges that life dishes out to this family of three and their surroundings.
