A musician on his way to meet a fellow fiddler, encounters two girls and is taken aback by their talks about afterlife. The musicians walk towards a village observing events, unable to discern phantasy from reality. Later, both men attend a funeral, where archaic rituals intertwine with the practice of marrying a dead girl to an ‘afterlife groom’.

Lukas, un jeune scientifique, participe à une expérience inédite dans le domaine de la recherche neurologique : entrer en communication avec l’esprit d’une femme plongée dans le coma à la suite d’un accident de voiture. Au début, il ne perçoit que des sons et des images confuses, avant de rencontrer la femme inconnue, qu’il nomme Aurora. Contrevenant aux règles du protocole de recherche, il cache sa découverte au reste de l’équipe scientifique. A chaque nouvelle connexion, Lukas plonge davantage dans l’univers fantasmatique d’Aurora, avec laquelle il développe une relation exclusive et fusionnelle, en marge du monde réel.

The film crew, as if being detectives try to understand how their country became independent about a hundred years ago. Starting from facts and a little dull talks with historians, the search of information (knowledge) takes them to Paris where they discover even more philosophical questions related not only to the independence, but as well to the concept of freedom in general. “We have started making a movie about the freedom conference of 1919 and the role of Lithuanians in it. But making this movie we have stumbled upon lots of ideas. We have started asking ourselves, what is freedom, and what is the difference between the territorial and personal, or self-freedom?”
