Deux aventuriers, un noir, Léo et un blanc, Robert, perdus avec leur 2CV dans le désert africain, trouvent refuge dans une oasis, appartenant à un colonel allemand tué pendant la guerre. Sa veuve, Agnès Von Staff, pour se venger, a fait fermer l'unique puits de la région. Elle les engage pour s'occuper de ses intérêts.
