A man is a hunter at Maxim's restaurant. He lives in the provinces and his family is unaware of his profession. As soon as he has enough money, he quits his job and goes home for his daughter's wedding to a marquis. This one is a regular at the restaurant and the man tries to prevent the wedding before the truth is discovered.

Afin de voir la femme qu'il aime, un millionnaire achète un magasin de chaussures. C'est alors qu'il tombe amoureux d'une des vendeuses.

Un jeune homme riche et oiseux tombe amoureux d'un chanteur de cabaret. Très habile, elle prétend rester insensible à cet amour, espérant ainsi mieux atteindre ses extrémités ambitieuses.

Following a slight accident, a stranger appears in a Provençal village and knocks at the door of the Philippes'villa, asking them for help. Albert Philippe is suspicious but his wife shows some interest in the man. After leaving the Philippe family, the unknown man goes to the village, meets the mayor and buys an island opposite the Philippe villa. It suddenly appears that the mysterious fellow is none other than Balthazar Lemonnier, a well-known millionaire. No sooner is the news disclosed than everybody, including the initially distrustful Mr. Philippe, wants to become his friend.

Affecté au 647e Dragon de Névreuse-les-Bains, le jeune paysan Ignace Boitaclou, arrive en retard à la caserne où il est sévèrement réprimandé par son adjudant de semaine. Devenu célèbre dans la caserne grâce à une chanson, il est nommé ordonnance du colonel à la place du soldat Philibert. Il séduit Annette, la femme de chambre et devient très vite le confident de Monique, la nièce du colonel. Maladroit, mais homme de cœur, Boitaclou deviendra très vite un soldat modèle.
