The story of musician Aviv Geffen (Noah Engelhard) in his journey towards adulthood while being the biggest rock star Israel has ever known. A rejected boy, he became the voice of an entire generation, with songs that are considered an immortal Israeli soundtrack.

A comic and episodic satire, the film uses improvisation to illustrate the clash between fantasy and reality in real life. Although conceived in the style of Mekas’ “Hallelujah the hills” (1962), it’s an authentically Israeli satire, an openly rebellious and individualistic expression that poked fun at the sacred myths of earlier zionist films. The technique of film within the film is used to portray cinema as reflection of the imagination, a miracle based on dreams and fantasies that take on concrete characteristics – parallel to the miracle of Israel, the dream that has become reality. Although not a commercial success, its importance is beyond any measure, though it remains a unique experiment, boldly uncommercial and subversive, out of any context in that patriotic, ideological epoch.

Jonathan a 12 ans. Il est brillant, peut-être un peu trop. C’est pour ça que tout le monde s’en prend à lui à l’école, même ses profs. Son meilleur ami est son père, Daniel, qu’il retrouve après l’école, durant ses heures de travail à la banque. Daniel, chargé de la sécurité de la banque meurt d’une crise cardiaque lors d’une garde de nuit, en présence de son fils qui ne peut le sauver. Avec l’aide d’Eliyahu, son grand-père grincheux, de Nick, l’ami rusé d’Eliyahu, et d’un Lord excentrique tombé en disgrâce, Jonathan a un plan fou pour sauver sa famille et faire payer l’ancien patron de son père : dévaliser la banque !
