Au cœur des collines reculées d’une île indonésienne, Marlina, une jeune veuve, vit seule. Un jour, surgit un gang venu pour l’attaquer, la violer et la dépouiller de son bétail. Pour se défendre, elle tue plusieurs de ces hommes, dont leur chef. Décidée à obtenir justice, elle s’engage dans un voyage vers sa propre émancipation. Mais le chemin est long, surtout quand un fantôme sans tête vous poursuit.

Lando is frustrated and depressed because his fiance left him. Kalin has to move to jakarta after her parents died and works as a busway ticket officer. One day, Lando accidentally takes a photograph of Kalin's face.

Then they ask Gendro-the former drummer of the Bandits- now married and having financial difficulties. Then, they ask Bule, who had became a transsexual. In the mean time, Soljah, the keyboardist who's put on too much weight, is missing. They could not find him anywhere. The conflict comes between the story to get a vocalist and the love story of Asti and Damon.
