Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez returns to the ring against Julio Cesar Martinez. The WBC flyweight champion steps up in weight to face Gonzalez after his original opponent, Juan Francisco Estrada, pulled out of their scheduled trilogy fight.

Undefeated WBA middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin will make his fourth defense in a year’s span when he faces Willie Monroe Jr. on May 16 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux was a middleweight unification professional boxing match contested between WBC interim, WBA (Super), and IBO champion, Gennady Golovkin and IBF champion, David Lemieux. The bout took place at Madison Square Garden on October 17, 2015.

Gennady Golovkin unified the IBF and WBA middleweight titles with an eight-round TKO of David Lemieux in October 2015, and the undefeated champion is now slated to do battle with mandatory IBF challenger Dominic Wade on April 23, 2016.

Estrada (43-3, 28 KO) and Chocolatito (51-3, 41 KO) first met way back in 2012, when both were in the 108 lb division. Gonzalez won a decision to retain his WBA title that night, and as he went up the weight classes, Estrada chased behind him, hoping for an eventual rematch. That rematch didn’t come for over eight years, but the two met again in early 2021. In that one, Estrada got a debated split decision nod, retaining the WBA and WBC titles at 115 lbs. Since then, Estrada has given up both belts, though he does have the WBC’s “Franchise” belt.

Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez (51-4 41 KO's) faces former WBA world title challenger Rober “El Huracan” Barrera (27-5 17 KOs) at the Alexis Arguello Arena in Managua, Nicaragua.
