Sachant qu'il est condamné d'avance à la mort pour son crime et prouver sa loyauté envers son clan, ce dernier décide de se jeter du haut des Pics des Enfers. Cependant, celui-ci renaît dans un autre monde se nommant Douluo Dalu. Ce monde permet à chaque personne de naître avec un esprit et de développer sa puissance spirituelle afin de devenir un maître des esprits. Malheureusement pour Tang San, l'esprit qui se réveille en lui est l'un des esprits les plus faibles existants… Malgré ça, il va tout faire pour gravir peu à peu les échelons afin de devenir un puissant maître des esprits et faire hommage au clan Tang.
