A la fin des années soixante, deux familles émigrent en Israël et se retrouvent voisines dans un minuscule village perdu au milieu de nulle part. L'une vient du Maroc et l'autre de l'Inde. Hormis un rêve, ces gens n'ont rien en commun. Loin de leurs habitudes et de leurs influences culturelles, ils tentent de reconstruire leur monde. Obligées de cohabiter, les deux communautés se jaugent et tentent d'exister par ce qui les différencie.
