Au moment où le Brabant du Nord est frappé par la crise économique et le chômage, tous les New Kids (Rikkert, Barrie, Richard, Robbie et Gerrie) perdent leur boulot. Sans aucune source de revenus et ne pouvant plus bénéficier d’indemnités, ils décident tout simplement de prendre tout ce dont ils ont besoin et de ne jamais plus payer pour quoique ce soit. Mais lorsqu’une équipe de télévision commence à suivre les New Kids comme une source régulière de reportages spectaculaires, ils deviennent plus populaires qu’il n’est possible d’imaginer et d’autres commencent à suivre leur exemple. Ruben is a lone and unbalanced young man who lost his sight in childhood. Marie is an albino woman of temperate look and with a lot of insecurities. She has a beautiful voice and, along with Ruben, shares a mutual love for books and tales. Ruben's mother hires her as a reader to read her son books orally. While they live in a mansion, between these two lonely souls sparks love, but will love still be blind if the man recovers from his blindness?

A successful vascular surgeon is suddenly confronted with a blood phobia, making it impossible for him to exercise his job in the hospital. He moves from the capital to the countryside to work as the GP of a village where he only knows his aunt. His predecessor was well liked, so his new community is less than welcoming. The empathic capabilities of the doctor leaves much to be desired, making it even harder for him to win his place in the close-knit community.

Fifteen young ambitious people are all working together in an empty building, some also live there. They try to achieve the same goal: having a selfmade business.
