Poland in the 80’s was a country ruled by crisis and a sense of hopelessness. Only few knew how to turn crisis into a business. It was a golden time for them. How did they know what would bring them money? How did they operate in a country where almost everything was forbidden?

Told across a number of years, part of the ever waging war between the police and the criminal empires spanning Eastern Europe, we follow one young man's life, his childhood and adolescence and ultimately his descent into the criminal underworld. His path soon crosses with a policeman who will stop at nothing to catch him.

Shopping malls - today's place of creating desires. Best jewelry, clothes, shoes. Unaffordable by young girls, but they "work" to get themselves sponsors for new items.

Tired of just scraping by, an ambitious janitor scams and schemes his way to the good life in 1980s Poland amid changing regimes and personal chaos.
