Peter Weller stars as Baton Morris, a drifter suspected of murder, in this crime drama. A widow (Kathy Baker) living in West Virginia takes in the man (Weller) whom she believes murdered her husband. As she spends more time with him, she begins to fall for him, but continues to question whether or not she can trust him. Directed by David Saperstein and based on a novel by Robert Houston, A Killing Affair features twists and turns up until the end.

Over the course of one day in August 1912, the family of retired actor James Tyrone grapples with the morphine addiction of his wife Mary, the illness of their youngest son Edmund and the alcoholism and debauchery of their older son Jamie. As day turns into night, guilt, anger, despair, and regret threaten to destroy the family.

Sweetback, le héros est au début un petit gigolo qui anime des shows pornographiques dans une maison close. Son proxénète le loue à la police pour effectuer un faux témoignage. Pendant le trajet, les agents de police tombent sur une manifestation pro-black et arrêtent un des leaders du mouvement. Alors qu’ils sont en train de passer à tabac le jeune révolutionnaire, Sweetback sort de son mutisme et tue ces policiers.Le film prend alors une autre tournure, notre héros a fait un grand pas pour sortir de cette immense spirale de passivité. La suite des évéments se résume assez bien par l’expression « Running Movie », où Sweetback est en cavale et tente d’échapper à cette interminable traque. Il va passer dans de multiples ghettos avant d’atteindre la frontière mexicaine.Le film nous présente une multitude d’éléments cycliques, du montage à la thématique, dans lesquels Sweetback passe et semble s’être libéré.

Based on Davis' 1961 play Purlie Victorious (which was later translated into the 1963 film Gone Are the Days! and which included all of the original Broadway cast, including Ruby Dee, Alan Alda, Beah Richards, and Godfrey Cambridge), Purlie is a musical with a book by Ossie Davis, Philip Rose, and Peter Udell, lyrics by Udell, and music by Gary Geld. It won two Tony Awards and was also nominated for Best Musical. This 1981 television adaptation is directed by Rudi Goldman and stars Broadway cast members Guillaume, Moore, Hemsley, and Hopkins, with Brandon Maggart as Cotchipee, Clarice Taylor as Idilla, and Don Scardino as Charlie. The production won a CableACE Award.
