Two girls are afraid of what will happen if one of the student’s parents might discover their mutual “crushes,” as they monitor all messages on her phone. Instead, they share written notes in class. After learning this, their teacher Ms. Amado is forced to confront conservative prejudices within the school system by coming out to her entire class.

On an average trip to town, a schoolmistress in 1910's Georgia confronts the societal expectations of her life which she becomes desperate to escape.

Elle tente de se relever en s’investissant dans son travail et glane un nouveau poste pour lequel il y a de la concurrence. Elle apprend à connaître sa nouvelle assistante et amie, ce que la meilleure amie d’enfance de Monica ne voit pas d’un très bon œil…
