Au nord de la Norvège, pendant l’été lorsque le soleil ne se couche plus, une jeune femme est assassinée dans un petit village. The film follows a gang of unemployed youth in the little town of Svolvær, Lofoten, starting up an illegal radio-channel called "Radio Feskslog".

The teacher Iben (64) lives alone with her dog Ivo in a small coastal community in Lofoten. She's always felt like an outsider in the village, and life doesn't get any easier when one of her students claims he's been bitten by her dog.

Anna lives with her father Karl someplace in the outskirts of northern Norway. Karl killed his ex-wife and threw her newborn coloured child into the sea when he discovered that she obviously had been unfaithful. Now Karl is being haunted by her ghost and is developing a serious drinking problem. Anna is looking for the love of her life, but there aren't many bachelors around - until they discovers another small family on the other side of the mountain. They meet a semi-alcoholized widow on Karl's age, her son Peder, and her black adopted son, Ante, that arrived from the sea on a piece of wood.

Himmelblå is a Norwegian drama series which aired on NRK1 in Norway, on SVT in Sweden and on RÚV in Iceland. It is based on the British TV drama Two Thousand Acres of Sky written by Timothy Prager and produced by Adrian Bate.
