Malgré les réticences de Luna, Amar accepte ce travail qui va pourtant les éloigner l’un de l’autre, tant moralement que physiquement. Au bout de quelque temps, sans aucune nouvelle d'Amar, Luna obtient l'autorisation de lui rendre visite sur son lieu de travail. Elle découvre alors une communauté bien à part, qui vit comme au siècle passé, sous surveillance. Luna s’efforce de convaincre Amar de revenir avec elle, mais lui, tente de la persuader que ce sanctuaire isolé lui apporte une paix intérieure et l'aide à ne pas boire. Après plusieurs semaines, Amar rentre enfin chez lui, radicalement transformé. Il déclare être devenu un homme meilleur. Mais Luna ne le reconnaît plus. Elle s’interroge.
