Aussi, son meilleur ami et associé, Alcino, atteint d’une maladie mortelle ne lui laissant plus que quelques mois à vivre, va donner une leçon à Gustavo dans le but de l’aider à redevenir celui qu’il était.
Mais c’était sans compter les manipulations de Veronica, la femme de Gustavo, qui prête à tout pour conserver son patrimoine va faire prendre une tournure inattendue à la tentative d’Alcino. Aussi Gustavo va-t-il finir par passer pour mort et accusé d’un crime qu’il n’a pa comis.
Avec sa vie bouleversée et en essayant de prouver son innocence, Gustavo rencontre Rosy une femme simple, travaillant dur pour élever seule ses quatre enfants, avec courage et optimisme. Parce qu’elle a bon coeur, Rosy commence à aider Gustavo dans sa tentative de reprendre le cours de sa vie. Peu à peu des sentiments naissent au sein du couple, incitant le héros à redécouvrir sa part d’humanité grâce à cet amour naissant.
