Après avoir été exclus successivement de huit établissements scolaires, Jonathan Trotz, un enfant adopté à l’histoire difficile, est accepté dans un nouvel internat à Leipzig, réputé pour son célèbre chœur de garçons. Dans cet établissement, il se lie d’amitié avec ses quatre camarades de chambrée, Martin, Uli, Kreuzkamm Junior et Matz, avec avec lesquels il fait bientôt les quatre cents coups. L’année sera riche en aventures pour Jonathan et ses nouveaux amis, entre la préparation du concert de Noël et la rivalité de leur bande avec celle des externes.
