Master Ravi

An unemployed young man (Jeetendra) takes a job to tutor unruly grandkids of Rai Sahab (Pran) and brings out respect, appreciation and hard work hidden deep inside them.

Thakur Rajnath Singh Chouhan opens a can of worms when he announces that he is going to marry a prostitute by the name of Tulsi. His mother will not even consider Tulsi as a daughter-in-law, and would prefer that he marry Sanjukta. Tulsi convinces him that he should marry the woman of his mother's choice, which he eventually does. Thereafter Tulsi gives birth to a baby boy, Ajay, and passes away. Sanjukta raises Ajay as her own child, even after the passing away of Rajnath, and even after giving birth to Pratap. Ajay is given the entire responsibility of the estate, while Pratap squanders money on courtesans and alcohol. Sanjukta trusts Ajay, until one day when a villager complains to her that Ajay has got his daughter, Geeta, pregnant; additionally she also finds out that Ajay has been misappropriating money, and also owes money to a prostitute named Leelabai, the very woman who sold Tulsi to Rajnath.

Sanjay Dutt makes his film debut. Shamlal is a union leader for the workers of construction company Ratanlal, who is tragically killed just when safety negotiations begin, leaving behind a devastated family. Shamlal's youngest son Rakesh takes his father's death the hardest, having fits whenever his family comes near. As a result, he is given up for adoption, and renamed Rocky, and assumes a carefree life with a new family. When Rocky reaches adulthood he falls in love, only to reveal buried traumas about his past.

The story starts with the special birthday celebration of a girl. Vasudevan (Sivaji Ganesan) narrates the story which goes back 14 years behind. Karunakaran (S. V. Subbaiah) and Vasudevan (Master Baji) are brothers whose parents had died. They are very much loving and close to each other but Vasudevan longs for mother's love.

When Shobha decides to go for a vacation to her parents' house, Kiran meets with a dancer/singer, Lulu, spends the night with her, and wakes up next morning to find her dead body. Fearing that the Police will arrest him, and his wife will leave him, he disposes off the body off of a bridge into a river, and returns home to try and lead a normal life. When the Police find Lulu's body, they discover that she had taken a taxi to Kiran's house on the night of her death. It looks like Kiran may have to face the consequences of being arrested and his wife leaving him.

Annapurna's son is Pranay who married Amrutha but was killed by Amrutha's father due to Pranay's caste. After 12 years, Amrutha also dies of depression and sends her son to Pranay's mother, Annapurna.
